About Rajasthan

Rajasthan is the largest state of India by an area of 3,42,239 sq km. It encompasses most of the area of the large, inhospitable Great Indian desert (Thar Desert), which has an edge paralleling the Sutlej-Indus river valley along its border with Pakistan. The state have borders with Pakistan to the west, Gujarat to the southwest, Madhya Pradesh to the southeast, Uttar Pradesh & Haryana to the northeast & Punjab to the north. About Jaipur

Jaipur, the Pink City of India, is enormously admired tourist destination in Rajasthan and India. As per the census of 2011 & 2008, it is the 10th largest city of India ranking among the fifty engineering global outsourcing cities. It was founded on 18th November, 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. The city is colorful with oscillation of organized architecture unveiling the royal culture, arts and traditions as the heritage of Rajasthan.

About RTU

Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is an affiliating university in Kota in the state of Rajasthan, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Rajasthan to enhance technical education in the state. It has many affiliated colleges under its umbrella. The university affiliates about 130 engineering colleges, 4 B.Arch colleges, 41 MCA colleges, 95 MBA colleges, 44 M.Tech colleges and 03 hotel management and catering institutes. More than 2.5 lakh students study in the institutes affiliated to the university. The university offers Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology, Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Applications, and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.

About TEQIP-III

Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme is a project of Government of India assisted by World Bank. The project was implemented to improve the quality of education in the technical institutions of India. Third phase of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (referred to as TEQIP-III) is fully integrated with the Twelveth Five-year Plan objectives for Technical Education as a key component for improving the quality of Engineering Education in existing institutions with a special consideration for Low Income States and Special Category States (SCS) and support to strengthen few affiliated technical universities to improve their policy, academic and management practices.

About the Institution

Poornima Institute of Engineering & Technology (PIET), Jaipur, affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University and approved by AICTE, established in the academic year 2007. About the Department

Department of Applied sciences established in 2007 with the mission of imparting quality teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Science to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering education. The department provides a strong footing to the students in first year of the engineering where students get acquainted with wide range of basic science and technical subjects.
